    Hi all!
As brand new Berner owners, we are just beginning the housetraining regime for our 9-month old pup. I have read several articles on house training and they all vary so much! What do/have any of you found to work well with the Berner pups?

We do not crate her, as someone is always at home with her. Right now we are trying to recognize her signs of having to go and getting her outside to do her business. If she is successful, she is met with much praise and a small treat. This works about 50% of the time. Often, she will go outside and then come in and piddle on the floor. I know she is young and does not yet have much bladder control, so am just looking for ideas.

PS...almost all of her accidents are pee accidents. She has gotten so that she will go to the door if she has to pooh all but once in the last week (or we have timed her outside adventures just right).

    Thanks for your help!

What we did with ours starting out once an hour we would take her out. This just gets them used to peeing outside instead of inside. We always went out the same door so she understood as she got older if she needed to go out she would sit at that door.
